Our School - Principal's Message
Welcome to St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School’s website. I hope this website helps you to learn more about our school.
St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1911. The school has continued to provide a quality Catholic Education to the Walcha community for just over 100 years.
St Patrick's School has many excellent features including a new well-equipped library, iPads, computers and interactive whiteboards in each classroom, these provide students with state of the art learning technology. Over the next three years it is in the School Maintenance Plan to refurbish all classrooms.
The caring and professional qualities of our staff ensures that an excellent standard of education is provided to students and every opportunity is given for our students to succeed. This education encompasses a spiritual, academic, cultural, sporting and social curriculum which is delivered within the Catholic ethos of the school.
At St Patrick’s students are encouraged to:
- Model Christ’s teachings;
- Learn and develop their skills;
- Build strong, positive relationships;
- Explore their own values; and
- Focus on how they can support those most in need.
St Patrick’s each year supports and participates in a number of local community events including the ANZAC Day March, Walcha Show and the Carols by Candlelight. Biannually the Year 3 to Year 6 participate in the New England Conservatorium of Music run 'New England Sings!'
